Your Subscriber Terminal is already watching you!

Your household is already being watched. The cable company just does not know who is watching. With this new technology they will be able to charge per person in the household. If you have friends over to watch a Pay Per View Program the cable slime can send you a bill for each person you allow to view the program.

Several years ago I read on the Scientific Atlanta website that their digital subscriber terminals send a message to the server each time a subscriber changes channel, in order to receive authorization to view that channel. The server can also make a record of each channel the subscriber watches and for how long. That section of Scientific Atlanta's website is now password protected. Nielsen logs are no longer necessary.
