From Rocky: OUTRAGEOUS CRTC Descision

For some inexplicable reason, the CRTC has given interim approval to Bell's tariff application to apply UBB charges to GAS… »www.crtc.gc.ca/eng/archive/2009/2009-484.htm. The rationale appears to be that retail Internet and wholesale customers should be treated the same and that this would create regulatory symmetry with the cablecos' tariffs for TPIA service.

The decision seems to be flawed and highly premature… Among other things, there is an outstanding request from MTS Allstream for disclosure of information filed by Bell in confidence…

EDIT.

This is a call to action.
We need to all work together to fight this.
Please contact the CRTC and your local MP to make them aware of this anti-competitive maneuver.

So, this means goodbye to unlimited, no?

Edit: Unlimited on GAS, that is. HSA would be unaffected, but I doubt there's many residential customers on here that want to pay $100 a month for true unlimited.

both theres no contract... so as far as your concerned your on the new pricing plans, it's too early to tell how this will go down but this move will hurt bell worse then they predict.

we wont know forsure until the 1st billing happens how bell will deal with excisting customers or their long term plan for them just yet.

This is screwed up. The FCC would never approve something this ridiculous. Now is the time to speak up and get the Government to clue in on the CRTC's incompetence.

Unbelievable. I may have to go to cable becuase at least they have maximum overages and this will send a message to Bell.

Sorry guys, but there can be no loyalty here. This is war.

we're being raped on the monthly
we're paying for the backhaul
we're paying for AGAS
we're paying for all their mistakes
they're playing with our data like it's their own.
now they want to double dip? how many more millions do they need to soak out of us. it's no wonder we don't have any money to build anything all the profits goes to Bell.

this is a plain joke. CRTC, you want to be taken seriously. You need to align all the ducks in the proper order before you start pulling the trigger.

is this a communist country or what? WTF??

Rogers has maximum overage fees of $25. With mini Bells we will pay through the nose with no limit.

I also recommend going over the CRTC's head and sending a complaint to your local MP and the competition bureau.
