 | Popup AD Messages Oh Hell no! I just got a POPUP message for Dominoe's Pizza right in the middle of a movie I was watching!
This is bullsh-t! I hope there is someone here with direct/indirect contact and influence with the AT&T U-Verse marketing and development team because if there is something that will make me PULL this service PRONTO is moronic POPUP AD messages! Hell no! I don't mind the popups for critical and important service messages like I once saw when it was finished upgrading the device - but not for FREAKING ads! Oh, Hell, no!
That needs to stop! |

 | Short bit ago I had also started a thread on this - this is absolutely ridiculous.
Everyone who gets these needs to call AT&T (800-288-2020) and complain.
Even the rep on the phone told me she can completely understand why I was so pissed off.
Pleaseeeeee - everyone start calling them and complain. I also told them I would be canceling and going back to another type of service if this does not stop. -- Himebaugh Consulting, Inc. (hcd.net) Computer consulting, software/web development & systems integration

| I got this as well.
Actually my mom got it, which was a catastrophe because she had no clue how to get rid of it. She was looking at the "program your remote" booklet to find out. Luckily I was a room over and just happened to walk in at that time.
While Comcast had ads, they didn't have ones like this (usually about boxing or wrestling), and it had a Message area in the menu so you could see them on your time. There would be a light on the front of the box instead.
Looks like thats +1 for Comcast! >.> |

 | reply to gdm Oh Great!
Folks, people need complain to complain and continue to complain, not stop.
This POPUP was intentional to get a measured response, and they expect users will have a short tolerance of 1 to 2 weeks before they make it standard practice which we can NOT allow to happen. |
|
 | Yes, I completely agree - everyone who sees the ad needs to call AT&T (800-288-2020) and complain.
This will do nothing but get worse - at first they will do it "every so often" then will slowly increase the frequency ads.
They will hope people will just get used to it, but it is ridiculous to do pop up ads for a service in which people are paying!
Please do not let this happen. Let AT&T know people will be rapidly canceling their service if they continue this! -- Himebaugh Consulting, Inc. (hcd.net) Computer consulting, software/web development & systems integration

If you aren't using a TV at that time, when you go to turn it on the ad will be there. |

 | and THAT is why I'm glad I stayed with local cable and OTA on a HD tivo or media center and use uverse for data only.....
Uverse is trying to take the cable TV model to the internet with ever more intrusive crap on the interface...
bummer.... I was almost ready to at least try it |
