I've been with Teksavvy internet for just over a year and have been very happy with them.

I just switched my home phone over to them last week.

Scrap the CRTC, petition urges
An online petition to dissolve the CRTC has attracted hundreds of signatures in the wake of the regulator's ruling against independent internet providers last week.
CBC - »www.cbc.ca/technology/story/2009···lve.html

Sign the petition here: »dissolvethecrtc.ca/node/1

The goal is to reach 10 000 signatures. The website opened up on Saturday and already has over 1200 signatures!

Awesome Thread!!

The sooner Bell dies, the better.
They tried to screw me with random fees when I terminated their home phone service* not long ago, but I recently deposited the cheque they sent me after I disputed with Kevin Crull's office.

* LONG LIVE TEKSAVVY!!!!

Just a couple of days ago, I got a curious envelope in the mail. It had my name printed on it and an actual real postage stamp. No indication on who sent in. Opening it up, it was a "greeting card" from Bell, inviting me back and telling me that any connection fee would be waived.

Just image... Bell puts vast amounts of energy into making stupid mysterious greeting cards and animated talking Beavers on TV. How much better off would everyone be if Bell actually put that much energy and creativity into actually SERVING THEIR CUSTOMERS instead of screwing them over, nickel and diming them, and trying to use the CRTC to harm the companies that are actually innovating.

The mind boggles.

Yup, just dropped Bell completely for Teksavvy.

Feels so good having Bell out of my wallet.

Uh, sorry, but approximately $21 of what you pay TSI for internet services is rerouted directly to B-hell as the GAS fee.
If you're on dry loop, most of that $10 goes to B-hell.
Most of the basic telephone charge TSI has to roll over to B-hell on your behalf.

Only place they're making something on is the additional options (call display, call forward, voicemail, etc) that B-hell (over)charges for.

My only other option is Cogeco, and that's NOT an option at this time.

I've had a few problems with the folks at TSI over the last 6 months (courtesy of B-hell), but unless things go totally stupid, I'm staying with them.

Another commercial here folks kinda like the US one where the bankers pick your pocket except we substitute Bell.
That was a Capital One Canada commercial a few years ago.

See: »Re: New Bell Canada Ad

Equally good (and painful), Rick Mercer's parody:

Either way you look at it, just substitute the organization with Bell, and it's accurate...

Well, that could be considered an improvement over giving ALL your money to Bell ... and similarly, not having to deal with Bell support is probably a lot nicer.

Agreed!! Just shows how much the incumbents are gouging the customer, when the independent can offer better service for less. Oh, did I mention having support in this country that can speak the official languages properly?

I had a chat with the cellular side a little over a week ago as I kept going into roaming. The guy repeatedly said they had no problems. After 5 minutes of that BS, I hung up on him. Hell, not my phone (my company's), so not my problem. They can deal with B-M's billing dept. Oddly enough, the phone hasn't gone into roaming from that exact same location since ...

Does this mean you are not satisfied with a 5$ Bell-Bundle discount?

I just got hooked up with Teksavvy (with MLPP and Tomato) and all I can say is WOW! Getting steady download speeds of 250-350kb/s at 8PM.... and I'm paying less than I was with Bell.... Teksavvy is a great alternative to Bell....

I'm finally free of Bell.... so yeah a big F U Bell!

How can you be free of Bell when more than 60% of what you pay TSI goes direct to Bell, and if you have line issues you have to deal with Bell?

Take the blinders off, you are not in any way free of Bell aside from who you call with issues.

Even Bell's own policies affect you.

Let him have his moment.
No sense ruining his emancipation feeling.
Leaving Bell, well sort of, is a kind of watershed moment in ones life.

True that.

Well, TSI may have to still deal with Bell, but I don't.... and I am no longer throttled.... so, yeh, I am free of them. TSI may not be, but they allow me to actually get the internet service that I pay for and for less $$ than Bell was charging me directly.

There are no blinders to take off, dude. Again, I no longer have to deal with Bell's support, deal with their throttling and pay less to Teksavvy.... so it's all good.

Sorry to piss in your cornflakes
