 | Careful, AT&T U-Verse is just getting launched here, and I have been asked quite a few times if this or that person should switch to them from Comcast. Up until now, I've been giving a pretty measured response by stating that it depends on how much they want to pay vs. the number of channels they want, especially HD channels. Now, this development makes my response much easier. "As bad as Comcast is, at least they don't bombard you with pop-up ads in the middle of a show. Stick with them or get satellite."
So if anyone from AT&T is reading this, be careful. In many markets, U-Verse is the new competitor to the incumbent cable system. And if they want to remain in second place, they can keep pulling stunts like this. | | fiberguyMy views are my own.Premium join:2005-05-20 kudos:3 | It's making that small in-house banner ad on the comcast guide seem a little less "intrusive" I bet...
The thing is, IPTV will eventually become the standard of closed circuit television services.. Even Comcast has been talking about IPTV, in house, for some time now, going back to the earlier part of this decade. When one entity rises up, so do the rest... it's the way it works, just as when one gas station raises prices, the rest follow, instead of simply lowering prices to compete. | |
