I never call retentions, unless I'm serious about leaving. In my experience they only love you after you've left.

I never play games with cancellation, more vendors should just cancel service when people call retentions and threaten IMO.
If they just canceled every time someone called, they'd be in trouble and they know it. The point of the department is to RETAIN customers, plain and simple. As the customer, I will take advantage. And for both DTV and DISH those kind of referals have to be done privately. (That's the point of them)
