 | make at&t shudder! in addition to contacting the head honcho ... details were provided by others, contact the Public Utilities Commission in your area. While U-Verse is NOT a public utilitity, it's provided by the phone company, who is regulated by the PUC.
Also, try contacting your local city hall. They authorized at&t's video franchise, and can revoke it, just as easily.
the PUC will demand that at&t respond. If you make enough waves in your city council, and they start talking about revoking at&t's video franchise ... at&t will back WAY off!
Can you imagine?? All the U-Verse customers in Anytown, U.S ... no longer being allowed U-Verse? Attack the bottom line! With the access line loss, over the past 10 years, at&t is depending on new, advanced services to make up that revenue. Put that at risk, and at&t WILL LISTEN!
I had U-Verse, early on and it was simply amazing. There were many, many channels that had NO advertisement, at all. I for one, would be very, very upset, with at&t, for messing with that, by sticking pop-ups on my T.V.
However, since it's IPTV ... the ads probably come from an ad server, at a specified address. Just figure out what IP that server is, and put a rule in your firewall, to block it! I do it now, for doubleclick.net... and others! Easy as pie! |
