AT&T 3MB service getting 1.5M

benriga posted : I was on the 1.5MB service and was getting on average about 1.2MB. I recently upgraded to 3MB expecting to get at least double the speed. What I've found is that the speed only bumped up to about 1.5MB. These numbers by the way are according to the ookla net metrics. DSLReports speed test shows even slower (1.2MB). What kind of download speed should I expect from a 3MB line?

I'm still using the original Speedstream 5260 modem (from 2001). Could that be the issue? Anyone kow what the max speed I can expect for that?

Naturally AT&T support out of India was a complete waste of time. How do I get this fixed?

Should I just move to cable?
