Say they take the money, as soon as they take it ... You will have RIAA and the MPAA ... complaining about piracy ... An then will try to force the ISP to monitor and filter traffic on their part of the network. Then the government will have them meter all the users.
Before you know what hit you ... you ISP will have to raise the rates due to all this extra monitoring.
As far as I'm concerned they made the right choice not to take the money ...
Whereas the small ISPs are willing to serve rural areas with decent net neutrality provisions, because their employees actually have to use the connections they create.
I'm kinda happy that the bigwigs and their astroturfers are declining the cash. Leaves more for the little guys.
