Dad deployed to Afghanistan(new thread)

Well I got a suggestion from a soldier, that for the safety of the soldiers, and civilians in the pictures, that I delete them.I don't want anything to happen to them, and what seems like harmless portraits of my dad, fellow soldiers, and civilians, could actually be turned into targets for the bad guys, and also analyzed for weakness.Sorry about this, and I know you all really enjoyed the pictures my dad and his soldiers have taken. It may be overkill that I had the thread deleted, and maybe unnecessary - but we can't take chances. So I will start from scratch, and I will keep you guys updated on my dad.

Thanks, and I appreciate it.

Having spent 20 years in the military (navy) I remember back in the day that we didn't discuss current operations, ship's movement or schedule and pictures were out.

I think being overly cautious is better then not being cautious enough. I think you made the right decision.

Steve

Yea, it does make sense, especially in this day and age.But I mean, who would give much thought about a picture of a boy and a soccer ball?Or pics of soldiers doing their job, since we see it on news sites all the time, well more of it comes out of Iraq, and seems like we don't hear much from Afghanistan. Here in the US, we actually love to see that we are helping to make a difference, one child at a time! But the terrorists don't look at it that way! Those guys are sick that's for sure.I heard on the news last year, of them driving a car bomb into a children's school full of girls. All because they are against girls going to school.Who could do such a thing. .They are messed up that's for sure, and they don't care.

But my dad actually had no issues with the pictures that he wanted me to share with you guys, but a soldier suggested it, and I know it's better safe than sorry! We just wanted to share pics from my dads unit point of view, like the pictures that Boston.com has, which are really spectacular.

Is mom starting with the fall semester? Literature can be tough but wait until you can take Technical Writing. It is tough but it can be really interesting because you can pick subjects you really like and write a technical papers on them. The hard part is being clear, concise, and grammatically correct all at the same time. I really loved it, but you do need to pick subjects that you can transmit your enthusiasm about to others at the same time as getting the details right.

Yup!she is starting Fall semester this Thursday!Parking looks a little hectic down there though!Hah, I like a good challenge!I'm not sure if technical writing is English 121, 122, or Communication 121/122?Sounds like it would be COM 121, which is required!

lol, last time I did JD was when I was like 17 or 18?Can't remember, but I remember I just sat there bored as heck, not knowing what the heck they were even talking about. They asked me a question, "What is your opinion of insurance companies?"I just said katrina lol..So I wasn't picked to continue the next round. I just wish that college students, or at least full time students taking 12+ credits were exempt from JD.I really don't have time to do it!Since I have to study for 3 exams during that time, and an essay that is due!Plus with my dad being home and all.
