Are you sure?

Are you sure you have Fios Digital Voice and not just Fios Phone?

Fios Digital Voice was deployed in beta in Maryland and Virginia through mid February (2009), and has been unavailable for new orders since then. I have been waiting for Fios Digital Voice to become available since then. I just checked with Fios Support, and they still say that it's coming someday, just not today.

I already have Fios internet and TV, and must move from AT&T Callvantage, so my only choice to date has been Fios Phone with the Freedom Essentials bundle. I just won't go to Vonage; I can't figure out how they will stay in business.

The only difference I have seen so far listed between one of the FIOS Freedom bundles, other than base technology VOIP vs. POTS, is Fios Digital Voice will have all the usual suspects for VOIP features, and the Fios Phone only has the standard features, like Voice Mail, Caller ID, etc.

One other difference is price for additional lines. Fios Phone is priced the same per line, where Fios Digital Voice is rumored to have the $45 price for primary line, and $10 for additional lines. Big difference for SOHO users.

Its Verizon Fios Digital Voice. Here is the promo link. My set up / Dashboard works exactly like this promo.

»promo.verizon.com/fiosdigitalvoicedemo/

Has all the bells an whistles that I had with Vonage but also has calendar features which I find pretty useful, a nice phone book and I can initiate calls from the dashboard and the phone rings be when connected.

edit for pricing info.
The Price is 44.99 but as part of the bundle there is a 15.98 discount ( then in NJ add $4.26 Tax, 4.70 Fed Univ Sub Fee and .90 911 fee.)

This product just came to my area... I was told one of the main benefits is that taxes (and other fees) are lower. I'm still searching, but does anyone know if this is true?

Thanks
