[DISH] Fox sports Detroit (maybe others too) being squeezed

Fox sports Detroit (the network) just started broadcasting in HD 24/7 (verses before where it would just be HD during some games)

Dish has FSN Detroit on a SD channel, and an HD channel. The HD channel is still only part time, showing only the games (logo, and music the other 90% of the day) and the SD channel has programming 24/7.

Now, since the change on FSN's end, the SD channel on Dish is squeezed. In other words it appears Dish is receiving a 16x9 feed, and squeezing it to 4x3 for their SD feed.

I have tried to reach out to Dish about this, and they are clueless, and just point the finger at FSN (I have gone all the way the the executive department). My problem with that, is Both DirecTv and Comcast both show it correctly, so I know Dish is screwing it up. Can anyone else confirm their Local FSN is also squeezed? Outside of Detroit, assuming other FSN's now do HD 24/7.

When you say the others do it 24/7 is it REALLY HD or side bared HD meaing SD image really with SIDEbars added.

I haven't seen any sports net that is truely HD all the time, especialy the regiopnals ones. ESPN is getting closer but even they have SD content still on the HD channel.

CSNBA when in HD is 1080i. Never is it "stretched". Yes Dish does use JIP (Join in progress) which does blow.

Question that has still has not beeen answered is it TRUE HD not being cairried or just sidebar enhanced (or even blanlk/logo) sidebared SD actual main program.

Sat is a limited rsource.... so yes not a true HD broadcast I could see them shifting the bandwidth elsewhere where it really is HD and needed.

From what I've heard from the NOC guys. Dish doesn't touch the picture. Yes they compress it (who doesn't) but they don't touch the resolution.
If they are giving you 720p that's the way they are getting it.
