| Not necessarily, while there will likely still be lots of guide "errors", having richer data would be a plus, and Eric Rabe seems to allude to it in his post here in the Verizon Blog...
I wanted to respond to your comments about the guide data. We do our best to be sure the guide is accurate and to hold our provider's feet to the fire. We run checks on the guide data every morning, and if we find an issue, we correct it. We know we're still getting some errors, so feedback like yours is helpful. In terms of making the information more complete, we do plan to add richer information in an upcoming release of the guide.

I finally went back to Tivo.Had the first generation than gave it up when comcast released there first dvr. 20hrs of HD isn't squat. Now I have 144hrs with tivo+external.

They MUST do something about the DVR hard drive space. It should be on the very top of their priority list. There just isn't enough space on the DVR with the upcoming Fall Tv season. They have waited long enough...it is time for some action. |

1.7 mostly addresses HDMI handshake issues.
Some areas may see 1.7 soon. |

As long as it fixes the lag when scrolling through the channels, and stops the random display of the Channel Info I would be happy.
I do wish they'd ditch FYI. |

This is not Verizon's choice.
Verizon does plan to adopt Cisco DVRs with greater capacity, but those may not be widely available for 6-9 months. Those should allow drive expansion, although not necessarily at release.

I can also tell you that there will be more Interactive features like there was during the Olympics.
Verizon is looking at external drive expansion. No ETA. |
