There hasn't been a connection between AT&T and PacBell since 1984. SBC absorbed the PacBell brand in 2002, well before SBC bought AT&T. By the time SBC rebranded as AT&T, PacBell (and Ameritech, and SNET, and Prodigy) were mere memories of past services).
