"The Edge" Speeds and Compatible modem

I just had Knology "The Edge" installed in Montgomery, AL. I am getting on most speed tests about 8000kb/s download during non-peek times and only about 400kb/s upload. I am worried about my uploads. The installers said my Surfboard 5100 was not compatible with "The Edge" and said that a webstar and some other model were the only 2 that were compatible.

I looked at the info here on DSLReports about the signal/power levels and they all seem within the range they should be

#1. IS my SB5100 compatible with "The Edge"
#2. My download speeds seem within range during non-peek hours, but why could my upload be so much off?
#3. My "firmware" on the model was updated when the serivce was activiated by the Knology config file to 2.3.2.2 something. Is this "firmware" config file the correct version for the service?

Your speeds sound about right. I don't have edge, and I get about 260kbps upstream.

I believe any DOCSIS 2.0 modem will work with Knology including edge. I bought a Linksys CM100 for $10 on ebay and it works good.

Knology is still running DOCSIS 1.1 even for the edge.
