<description><![CDATA[<A HREF="/useremail/u/1572525"><b>PX Eliezer</b></A> : Most VoIP companies do this, but the problem is that the folks on the other end also need a broadband connection.<br><br>When people talk about calling India and so forth, I think you'll find that the folks they are calling in India have regular phones, not VoIP, because they do not have broadband.<br><br>In addition, many countries are trying to prevent their people from using Voip, because their national telephone organizations (often government-related) are losing money.<br><br>But yes, as you said, most Voip companies do offer free calling among their customers.  Some companies also offer peering to customers of different companies.  For example, a CallCentric customer could use the SipBroker peering service to make a free call to a customer of CallWithUs.<br><br>Similarly, customers of CallCentric and Gizmo5 can freely call each other using the new iNum numbers.]]></description>

How you can compare it with Vonage $25 +++.<br><br>For India Actionvoip is best with 1.4 cents/min. If you are doing more than 2000 mins per months then its better to go for Vonage otherwise I will prefer to use Actionvoip with Ooma (use as calling card, dialing Actionvoip's access number).<br>Beware of Vonage, they are notorious about various fees, cancellation charges. <br>They may cancel India from free calling list if they observe excessive usage for India from Indian subscribers. Then you will be stuck with Vonage for at least 12 months.<br>(Remember for domestic calls majority of VOIP providers have limit of 3000 minutes)]]></description>

I need to consider the $33/month with Vonage vs the low per minute rates from Callcentric for Romania and Spain.<br><br>Also another good point that PX Eliezer brings up is that if you live outside NY then the fess/taxes you pay with Callcentric is quite low (less than $2 looks like).]]></description>

That was still better than the $50 plus base price and $200 a month long distance I was paying with Verizon for the same calls.<br><br>My point was not an opinion about Vonage but more about how prices are stated vs. the actual price you will be paying at the end of the month. The actual total price per month is going to be about $33. 12 X 33 = 396. <br><br>See soitgoes2 post for a detailed itemized list.<br><br>Now that is going to be the minimum you are going to pay.<br><br>The stat guys at Vonage know a good percentage of signup are not going to use the total call time they are calculating that price on.
