Still getting 2.6Mb/s after upgrade to Elite

After several years of service from my pro level plan I decided to upgrade to the elite....I mean hey what's 5 bucks more.

2 days ago my Modem (2 Wire 2700HG-B Gateway) reported a upgrade in speed so I tested it and was only getting around 2.5Mb/s
I searched this site a found that this is a common problem and to call and have them check your redback profile. When I did they said that the profile was fine. They said they would forward my problem to the local office to have them make sure we were on the right speed.

I waited 24 hours like they asked to no avail. The speed it still at the pro level.
Maybe on of y'all could help out

here is the speed test

Post on the Direct forum with an "Upgrade failed" thread.

It sounds like your upgrade has not been provisioned correctly. Your line stats indicate that it is more than capable of supporting Elite speeds.

I have been on the phone with 3 techs so far. 2 have said that the redback profile was correct and the third indicated that the network was functioning correctly and I thought he said the network was provisioned right.

Well clearly there is an issue somewhere.

I would take the word of the guys on Direct (who are all Level 2 or higher, I believe) over the word of a Level 1 on the phone any day of the week.

I resolved my own problem.

I remembered my ipcop firewall has a traffic shaper and was set to the pro level speeds. It was limiting the speed.

My bad....

Let this be a lesson to everyone, always check your traffic shaper.

Thanks everyone

Sorry to say I did exactly the same thing myself about 4 months ago when my DSL was first activated.

I bugged David See Profile asking why my speed tests were much lower than I expected, only to find out that it was a PEBKAC.

So you aren't alone!
