Is there an OpenOffice type of Photoshop

I had photoshop until I bought a new computer and have since lost the original OEM in one of several moves. Irfanview is nice, but not as Robust.

Is there an OpenOffice style version of Photoshop that is as robust as Photoshop but not as pricey? I don't need all of the features, but I do need things besides crop and resize.

Thanks

Probably the closest thing to PS is The Gimp. (Its free)

And Paint dot Net (also free)

I have PS and PSP9, but do most of my photo touchups and such in XnView.

It can use PS plugins, and has powerful editing and adjusting features. Even a primitive paint tool for text and stuff.

Export instead of Save As gives ya nice options for optimising your image filesize too.

It does about everything except image creation, and it's free too.

Of course, if you actually want to edit or create new images, then what Ccat mentioned would be better.

Thanks for asking that question. I have Paint Shop Pro but it seems to have gotten screwed up when trying another program that didn't lay well with it. Until I get it fixed, maybe one from Willy's links might be handy.

Paint dot net is closer to PSP than The Gimp. I would give that one a try first.

I haven't looked at Paint Dot Net in some time. I will give it a go tomorrow and see how I like it. I think I already have it downloaded but not installed.

I remember now, after installing the program, why I deleted it. I must be totally stupid and will try to educate myself later, but paint dot seems awfully complicated and not particularly user friendly. It does look as if it has a lot to offer, but......

I've changed my avatar and am now looking at the new one. I feel honored to still be connected to David.
