| Zip Code Something to note, their map goes by zip code. In some states, WV for instance, a zip code can cover a huge area. That doesn't mean that the whole area is covered by broadband. I noticed several areas that they had only 1 test for. (Including my own under/unserved zip) -- Fight Cancer! Join DSLR's Team Discovery | |

| Re: Zip Code How's the wireless project coming? How many folks in your area would be willing to get service if it was available? You might be able to do 20 Mbps symmetric over wireless with some of this new hot-shot tech | |

 | bmialonePremium join:2009-08-15 Anchorage, AK 1 edit | I live in Alaska and both broadband cable and Clearwire wireless are horrible compared to the other two states I lived in. Neither provide what they claim, both slow way down and become clogged in the evenings and are slow as mud on the weekends. Clearwire is so slow we can't even stream YouTube videos a lot of the time, it grinds to a halt, drops the connection, and it is often slower than the dial-up we used 15 years ago.
We can quibble over the numbers in the report, but the USA has fallen way behind, and Alaska is like going back in time. | |
