| Better late than never. I wonder what their actual retention is? Probably not the 375 days mentioned. |

| reply to NewsgroupRev I managed to get this deal for $8.21 per month. I navigated to Newsdemon's special offer page through newsgroupreviews.com and got the automatic 25% coupon applied to this offer. I was shocked to see the discount applied, so I continued to checkout and I was charged the $8.21.
Great deal if I must say. |

| reply to NewsgroupRev I can't find the thread about it for some reason, but the last sale they had, found several users reportedly being speed throttled at the tail end of there paid month, and having speeds reset on there next billing day. Should be interesting to see if these speed caps get triggered at an even lower point now with the lower prices. -- Block Accounts | UseNet Now |

| reply to Lurkers inc Since you are a competitor and a generally all around good and helpful guy, I will assume you will link to an example? I remember reports of NewsDemon users complaining of being throttled when they downloaded several hundred gigs in a month. It did happen to several heavy downloaders. |

The link kalone provided is the one I was thinking. I had searched quickly on my way out with the intention of coming back later since I couldnt find it in my initial search.
I believe another user in a different forum also noticed the same thing.
At any rate, my point was, these reports didn't surface until the first round of price cuts by them late last year/this year...Never heard a peep out of people when they were being charged 22.99 a month. Food for thought! -- Block Accounts | UseNet Now |

| reply to crese24 Add me to the 'never got capped' camp and consistently downloaded 300Gb to 380Gb a month.
Up until June, I was a member of NewsDemon for just over two years at the $17.99 a month rate. And it was rare for me to find missing articles in collections that couldn't be fixed by par files, but I guess that was due to the newsgroups I hung out in.
My only complaint with them was the 29 day auto-billing cycle. Being retired and having only one retirement check paid into my bank account on the first business day of the new month, sometimes I had to raid my piggy-bank and scramble down to the bank to make a deposit near the end of the month.
You know the old addage; "Sometimes there is just too much month at the end of the money." I'm the poster child.
Now I'm with Astraweb @ $11 and so far, couldn't be happier. |
