TiVo also said the new DirecTiVo product was on track and that it expected to roll out "new product developments" with Best Buy in early 2010. TiVo alluded to some user interface improvements on the new product.
Uhmmmmmmmmm ALL those were filed AFTER the VCR was in existance so tivo is really stepping on their patents when it comes to time shifting content.
