Re: Can we get off it please?

Essentially, what everyone is wanting is to use the AT&T network without having to pay AT&T.
Uh, if they subscribe to AT&T Wireless to get data service, they are already paying for the service. AT&T is already getting a cut of the pie.

And if you are connected to a hotspot instead of a 3G tower, then you aren't using AT&T's network to begin with so they shouldn't have a say in what you are using.

Sorry but saying AT&T should let Vonage and other VOIP providers use their network is like saying UPS should ship Fed-Ex packages on their trucks
UPS will happily ship a fed-ex package on their trucks as long as you have UPS label on them and have paid for the shipping via UPS. Similarly, people already are paying AT&T to use the data portion of their phones. AT&T is in essence saying that it doesn't like the looks of the package and refuses to ship it, even though a similar package (data packet) for a non-VoIP call is permitted.

and make sure they get there faster than UPS packages.
I'm not sure where the "faster" argument comes into play. Give a choice between a true cellular call and a VoIP, I bet the cellular gets there quicker and potentially has better quality.

Not nonissues like this.
It's only a non-issue to you. Obviously it's not a non-issue to everyone.

Yeah it's such a big issue. That's why ATT and Verzion control roughly 150 million subscribers...people are sooooo upset.

Do you expect the cablecos to start broadcasting youtube or hulu or some type of IPTV provider straight to your television via their HFC?
