Half the purpose behind the ubiquitous survey-sweepstakes offers is to get your contact info and implied consent to market. And supermarket loyalty cards. Your shopping history, product selection, and subtotals, and free samples (getting these is very strange, depends on the stereotype of the neighborhood around the supermarket, even if you live far from the supermarket, if I shop at the supermarket closets to me as the crows fly, I get nothing, if I shop at the same chain, but at a location that is much farther from me, but deeper into rich idyllic suburbia, I get 1-2 free samples a week); are gold to them and are much more than the 2-3% they loose over giving you token discounts. They should pay you to use your card per month.  |
