Question on Mac Filtering

Viet Vet posted : I do not use my wireless laptop often on my home network. I use a Linksys WRT54GS and have it programmed to only allow a wireless connection from the Mac address of my Laptop. It was my understanding that this would protect my wireless network. Yesterday I had occasion to use the laptop and just happen to open NIS 2009 network security application which stated "Caution Wireless Network Not Secure" (or words to that effect).
If I am missing something, I am open to learn.
VV
--
The privileges of being an American Citizen
1.
