Re: Got FTTN (VDSL2), can only get 12Mbps/896Kbps

Like everyone else has stated Yes they are. I ordered 7/5 I'm 900 ft from the CO but i just can't justify the highers speeds for the price yet.

Nope. I believe that you can get 5M/5M and 7M/5M.

That said, if someone is eligible for 7M/5M, they're probably eligible for 20M/5M, but at a higher price of course.

You can only get the 20M or 5M upload if you're very close to the DSLAM. I've seen a few addresses that are too far away to get the 20M upload, but can get the 5M. However, on those occasions 40M downstream was still possible. I have also seen 40M/1M as the top speed available at an address. I don't think higher uploads are a possibility right now to anyone who has a max download speed available of 20 or lower. It has appeared that if you're too far away to get 40M down then you're definitley too far away to get the higher upload speeds. For now anyways. Lots of new tech out there that is supposed to help with those issues.

That is correct you could get 5/5 but since it's supposedly the same price as 7/5 it really doesn't make much sense. and the only reason I would get the 40/20 they offer at the price point they want is if i ran a webserver off of my connection..
