This is an excellent point! Until you mentioned it, I assumed the GPS was only for the carrier's benefit (making sure you're not taking the unit out of your calling area). I was thinking it'd be fun to figure out how to spoof the GPS signal and use it overseas. I'd still love to figure out how to do that, but now I wouldn't just piss off the carrier -- I'd be pissing off the FCC and it's foreign counterparts too! Two birds with one stone!
