It still continues to be a viable alternative to torrents.

Homer JMmmm, Free Goo join:2000-10-05 Springfield | I found Usenet not long after I got online and still use it today. It is one of the few places on the Internet many less technical users have never found and it is kind of nice that way. I've been on a premium usenet account off and on for over 10 years, so I guess I never noticed if my ISP dropped support or not.
