I personally keep a Giganews 10 gig $7.99 monthly account around on the rare occasion that I use usenet, but most people will not even miss it. My 61 year old father who has a 1Mbps entry level DSL account with Verizon did not even know what usenet was, much less that it was available to him at one time.
