So I was just watching tv and the cable box completely shut off and the numbers were 8888 on the front. It then stayed off for about 5 minutes and then turned right back on, no info on channels or channel names. Is this something I should call Comcast for or what was it?
Sounds like it might have gotten a firmware update and power cycled its self or something like that. Whenever it does something like that the guide and whatnot goes out and will eventually come back up within an hour or so. Check to see if you are able to get On Demand or if you get an error message. If all things are good in the morning then don't worry about it. If it happens again then you may want to swap it out.
