Fiber is run down my street, how long until it's lit?

Last week, Cincinnati Bell contractors ran fiber down my street and I was wondering if anybody knew how long it usually took from installation to when I can get the service? I live in a 20 unit apartment building, so I imagine that they would want to service my building because they already have it wired.

Also, why is it that they hide their bundle pricing if you don't already have access to the service?

Dunno. Would be interesting to know. They've run fiber all the way down Miami Avenue here in Madeira and the node/phone box that serves me is at the end of my block right next to Miami. Would be nice to at least have FTTN so I'm not stuck with the same piss-poor speeds I've had since we got the service when it was first available oh so many years ago. I can't break 2Mbps down and it's fluctuated between ~1650kpbs and 1930kbps for a while now. Currently it's at 1650 and not budging. The difference is over 30k/sec download and that can have a big impact on the download time for large files.

No CBT techs seem to peruse this board so I doubt we'll get answers.

There are fiber lines running down my street right past my house, however they're Time Warner's....

For the apartment user within a couple of months...

For the home owner, may be a while..

See my earlier post by a former cbt tech..

Jack in a meeting talked about the economics of the service and the roi, running the service to a house is the same cost of going to an apartment, which has 20 units.

You will love the service.
