Not seeing improvement

I have an iphone on the 3G network. I live in Brooklyn and work in Midtown manhattan. Although my number of dropped calls and calls unable to connect are getting fewer (although it still happens far more frequently than I'd like) my main concern is my 3G network. I've had several days in the last 2 weeks where my phone is "unable to connect to the wirelesss data network" for sometimes up to 8 hours at a stretch. I've done the whole turn off and turn on the phone bit, but that never works. It's clearly a problem with the network and not with my phone. This has only happened in Manhattan but it's a becoming a regular occurrence and highly frustrating. I rely on email on the go on my phone for my job and when I can't use it for entire days it's detrimental to my career. Seeing as A T & T has a monopoly on iPhone users they need to step up and start solving the problems of their over taxed servers.
