I used Teleblend with Comcast for about 4 years and then moved to a rural area where Comcast was not available, so I just forwarded my calls to my cell phone during that time and got a Cricket USB Modem. That only worked sporadically though, so I didn't try any VOIPs out there. I moved again to an area where the Cricket Modem works just great, so I would like to keep using it. I have a MagicJack, but the computer has to be on to use it and the phone has to be close to the computer apparently, in order to use it, so I am wondering if it's a wash. Reading some of the posts though, I am getting the idea that you can somehow configure the Gizmo that comes with the Teleblend to use with MagicJack. I can't find any more information on this subject, so I am wondering if this is true and if so how to do it. It would be nice if I could get MagicJack to work without having the computer on and be able to talk anywhere in the house. If so (or if not), I am also wondering how to hook up my "Gizmo" using my Cricket modem. Does anyone have any answers? Thanks.

2) Why ask questions about MagicJack in the TeleBlend Forum? MJ users in the MJ Forum would be the ones to answer your query.
3) At one time, folks had posted the settings for several ATAs (Gizmos) that would register with MJ ... but MJ has "shut the door" on that capability.
If you are looking for cheap and bad service, consider MJ ... otherwise there are a bunch of excellent inexpensive full-featured VoIP providers out there. (Several existing threads in the main VoIP Forum discuss the options.)
Meanwhile, read through the MagicJack sub-Forum for more enlightening info ... before you commit.
Thanks for the update on MJ. (I knew someone was going to catch me on my saying I'd had Teleblend 4 years after I reviewed my finalized post, but Teleblend, SunRocket... except for the bankruptcy, same difference. I'll bet if you could see through cyberspace you would see the same faces.) I figured it was a toss up whether to post on Teleblend or MJ. Just trying to make the best config with the equipment I already have.
