Rutgers looks terrible. |

1 edit | reply to Mountaineer1 Like last year, everyone is down on UC. They were the underdog all of last year and was the underdog in this game by six points. What the critics get for not at least putting the Big East Champion in the top 25.
Edit:
After reading all the news about the game i find it funny that they dont see this as a great win for UC but simply a win and that Rutgers is rebuilding with a new QB. Excuse me but you news people did call Rutgers +6 and UC came in and destroyed the "Picked" BE team to win it all. I'm just going to laugh all year as everyone overlooks UC each and every week. |

Yes I know UC doesn't have the long standing history of some teams but there is no denying they have done well the last three years under their current coach Brian Kelly. Yes they lost in the ORANGE BOWL(not papajohns)last year but it was a great year of week after week being told they will lose by the media only to continue to win.
Part of the reason we were ranked so low was the bowl lost. The other part is losing 11 starters on defense. What the media is over looking is just because we lost 11 starters didn't mean we lost our whole defense. We brought back several players that had contributed to the defense last year so its not a bunch of new players with little play time. On the offensive side we brought back most of the offense from last year. Pike is fully healthy and throwing on target and we have an OLine that will do a good job of keeping him safe in the pocket. Our running game has improved(yet still untested) which will hopefully add to our offensive weapons. How many college teams can run the no-huddle offense in the first game of the season as successful as UC did last night?
I dont expect to be in the Orange Bowl again this year but I expect to have a great season and fighting for the championship again in the BE. |
