Its only "highly competitively priced when compared to typical business class T1 lines, many of which sell for hundreds of dollars per month and do not include the comprehensive software" if it includes the same SLA as a T1 does....

The 6 Mbit CC connection has a theoretical monthly throughput of about 1.8 TB. Imposing a 250 GB cap is an arbitrary limit.

A T1 can tie together networks, connect to an isp, carry pots traffic to the pstn-- it is much more than just a connection to the internet.

I have some clients near Memphis, TN, who were "lucky" enough to have been taken over by Comcast when RR and Comcast had to swap territories. (can't remember why they had to) Their RR was very reliable. Once Comcast took over, service got so bad, they had to bring in a DSL line from Bellsouth and buy a dual-WAN broadband router so they could switch over everytime Comcast has an issue. The DSL is only 1.5 mbps, so it's not a viable option for regular use. (many users in the office)

Just don't expect to use what we sell you. On one hand they tell us their pipes are fat and plentiful. Then in the next sentence claim the network is stressed because of a few abusive users hogging all the bits. So which is it? Basically they are giving you a full cup of coffee, but only letting you drink a few sips.

There's also the fact to be noted that no cable company other than Cablevision comes close to this new offering. For the same price Suddenlink would give you a 12/1.5 circuit. Time Warner's highest tier tends to be $100 cheaper, but about 15% of the speed. Currently, no cable provider other than CV and Comcast offers more tha a 50/5 conection before switching you over to fiber infrastructure, which is quite expensive. Is a T1 better than a 100/15 Comcast conection? Depends on what you need. Is a Comcast connection at 100/15 better than a T1? Depeds on what you need. If I had a T1 right now I'd be getting a fraction of the bandwidth I'm currently getting and would have to pay about 6x what I'm paying right now. I've been fortunate enough to have a 99.9% reliable connection without the aid of an SLA and the connection fits my needs just fine. The comparison of 100/15 service to an SLA'd T1 line is a bit audacious, however if all you want is a reasoably reliable bunch of bandwidth Comcast has you covered. If you're paranoid, back the connection up with a DSL circuit. Versus a T1 you'll likely still come out ahead, or at worst $100 behind per month for 66x more download bandwidth and 10x more upload bandwidth.
