Why does Shaw make it so difficult???

I wanted to give my daughter a gift of an HDPVR and thought it would be easy boy was I wrong. She lives in another citybut serviced by Shaw.
Because I wanted to use East Pay Ihad to be there when it was to be installed hat's either a plane trip or two ferries away.
Finally order from Vancouver then I had to ship it to her, then she has to arrange for the install.
Would have beeb easier to order on-line from Fture shop and have them ship free of charge.
Thanks Shaw.

You're welcome bobr818.

Shaw is a cable company, not a large retailer. It would be nice if they could make gifting equipment between systems easier, but equipment sold by Shaw needs to be assigned to an account. Then there's privacy and security protocol to deal with (unless you're authorized on the account)

In these types of circumstances, purchasing from a 3rd party retailer like Future Shop, Best Buy, etc is the best way.

And the saga continues.
My daughter phones customer service today to arrange for the installation of the HDPVR only to be told it won't work in Powell River.
It seems there are two areas in BC not all digital so a different HDPVR is required not the one Shaw sent me nor the one I'd buy at Future shop.
So another hour on the phone with both the Vancouver and Powell River? Victoria service rep and finally make arrangements for a tech to come to her home and swap the PVR with one that will work in Powell River.
I guess the CSR that told me to prchase one in Vancouver didn't know there was a difference

Im sorry to hear that this has been such a hard time for you! As the other person stated it does take a little more work. If you have bought the PVR we would take it back for a full refund and get you the HDPVR that you do need. I could find you a number for a customer support for the powell river if you would like to speak to them if you would like.
