<title>DI-524 security set-up</title>

<description><![CDATA[anon posted : I&#146;ve never gotten around to setting up my wireless router with a password, in part because I&#146;m totally clueless about networking.<br> <br>I found some instructions at <br><br>&raquo;<A HREF="http://www.howtodothings.com/computers-internet/how-to-secure-a-d-link-di-524-router" >www.howtodothings.com/computers-&middot;&middot;&middot;4-router</A><br><br>but they must be for another model of DI-524 because when I get to the Home>Wireless Settings page, it doesn&#146;t have any buttons for Cypher Type or PSK/EAP (as mentioned in steps 13 and 14 of the instructions); but it does require me to fill in the field for RADIUS Server 1 IP.<br><br>So what do I put there; and might I encounter any other, similar surprises on subsequent pages of the set-up process? <br> <br>Among other Macs, my wife&#146;s very old MacBook will connect through the router, so settings will have to accomodate older hardware&#151;an issue that&#146;s mentioned in the discussion on this forum that seems to come closest to addressing my problem, namely<br><br>&raquo;<A HREF="/forum/remark,22262637?hilite=di+524">ABC's of setting up WAP2 security</A><br><br>Thanks for any help you can give.<br><br>Richard]]></description>
