Albany, NY | just talked to a rep Yeah I was getting international applied to my phone and i just asked the rep about this and any mobile to mobile phone is free as of next billing cycle. The only time you pay is landlines. I asked about the 800 minutes... he said that is for abusers not casual customers, like if your phone is a repeater for an international number and or you use it as a business line.
I gotta say their reps have been much better since they get ranked and got moved to the US, even if it is the south  .
Sprint for me went from a necessary evil, to a company I actually like with the best CDMA phone selection. I use myTether to creat a wifi access adhoc point out of my Pre and went over 5gb last month and not much changed, speed went down from aroune 1.5mbit to about 600kbs but still plenty for sitting online around the office to get around the firewalls.

Because the word of a rep is pretty damn near worthless. I'd watch those first few bills closely...

I gotta give it to them, Sprint went from having the type of customer service which made you throw your phone at the wall to having pleasant actual people pick up rather quickly and they really try to resolve the problem. They actually have to or they get fired that is why they always ask you if they helped you out and if you need to be transferred or whatever... Our agency sprint rep was talking about this particular little ditty. Apparently at sprint now a few bad reviews will get you canned.
I am still uncomfortable with the "good" sprint, I dont believe one word of it, but like I said, they are a necessary evil. Between their pricing, and phone selection and the fact that Tmobile is non-existant in the North East/New England (just a piggyback on ATT), I dont have much of a choice.
We use both VZ and Sprint depending on division contracts and Sprint is much easier to work with and we actually have less rural dead spots. VZ is great but, there is always some charge, some program that is hampered and their phone selection leaves a lot to be desired. ATT is simply too expensive and coverage is slow for data and spotty for voice.
