What is going on

Last two days service has been terrible, constant drops. This is freaking brutal.

There's a large amount of rebuild work happening in the Plainfield/Mossup area over the last several days. Without knowing all the details of your exact location I'd say there's a very good chance you're in one of those areas. The good news is you'll probably have new lineup/services in the next month.

So we just moved to Sterling from RI .... man i gotta say this is terrible...we left Cox cable and moved to metrocast i was getting 24mb downloads with 5 to 6 mb uploads ..now i pay 69.95 a month 29 dollars more than cox for the "gamer" package which is suppose to be 10 to 1 and I'm lucky if I'm breaking 1 to 1? not to mention its hit or miss if the service is actually on . Wake up take a look nope modem is flashing no internet for awhile....Is this how you run a company where your customers pay you 170 a month for internet and TV ( yes we are not eligible for the bundle since we cant get metrocasts phone here WTF is that ) so now I'm stuck paying 50 dollars more a month for poor internet and no phone to boot...from everything i have seen this is our only choice for out here man i would pay good money for Fios...or my old ISP

Please PM me your modem MAC. Something is definitely not right to be seeing those speeds.

Nyteroad I know the speeds here in Metorcast are not what you where getting in RI the main reason is Cox has Verizon breathing down their necks with FIOS in CT we have ATT "pumping" out only 6 meg DSL so there is no need for Metrocast to give us the great speed others see.

But on a positive note when ever I have had issues with speeds they have worked out the problems quickly for me.

While not as bad as yours I have 7 down and I am only getting 5 on metrocast own test! and between 3 and 5 down on other tests.

This Plainfield, CT tonight for about 20 min. out every hour.

Metrocast tech support said everything is fine. ????

I really didn't want to this but it looks like I have to call AT&T. I can't risk not having a working connection when I work two days at home a week.

If it is network bandwidth or limitation of copper coax then I wish Metrocast would ditch the gamer package and lower the speeds and or take away video if it is to much. I'd rather have reliability rather than raw speed.

You have something else wrong all together.

Did you give your HFC MAC to jsz0? So he can look into it?

If you call Metrocast they do give out some information on the work that is happening on the north system (Plainfield Area). It just so happens that they were working in Plainfield and that's probably why you saw those real bad speeds. Like tenpin suggested, pass along your HFC MAC address to someone or call in a ticket.

When it was "normal" so to speak that is what I was seeing also. Nothing close to where it should be.
