Nyteroad as far as who I knew, well that day it was just pure luck a spot opened up otherwise it would have been later in the week. I am hoping the spot opened for me because I talked to the tech on the phone in a nice manner and was able to talk to him at a tech level. I mean how many users are going to call in knowing their upstream level?

So after weeks of dealing with this problem and dealing with horrible customer service im giving metrocast till the end of this week to finally figure this out or im going to AT&T DSL as much as that pains me.

Update: A metrocast Tech in a metrocast van comes out to my house 3 weeks ago runs some speedtests on my PC says hmmmm your speeds are horrible we need to change the line from your house to the street i will be back on friday to do that you do not need to be home you will know i was here cuz there will be a new box on the house. Well friday comes and goes no sign of anyone so i call on monday and ask whats going on. The woman at metrocast says there is no record of anyone putting in a job for that....Great She tells me shes going to schedule this job with Dispatch and someone will be out here in a few days to do it.

I let a week go by and still no sign of any work being done so i call back. The guy i talk to at metrocast says no one ever put in a work order for a new line......so the woman was just telling me what i want to hear to get me off the phone? He sets up a guy to come out and do this the next day which was last Wednesday...low and behold a subcontractor for metrocast shows up changes the line out and my internet gets worse...if thats even possible . He comes inside takes a look sees that my up stream power level is 59db and says they are gonna need to send a bucket truck out to do something from the pole.

So i call back customer service explain to them what he said the guy i talk to starts Instant messaging Dispatch says they will have a truck out Thursday and if not Friday at the latest the tech guy on the phone even went as far as to cut and paste his conversation with dispatch into my "file" so someone would be held accountable for once......well its now saturday and no sign of any metrocast truck my upstream power level is currently 58DB my internet is running at a whooping 1.95 to .7 so i just got off the phone with customer service again hes puts me on hold and comes back saying dispatch says the will have someone out here today between 9am and 5pm. I ask when should i wait till i call back when no one shows up? since it has happened 4 times already. he responds with well we are in the office till 5 so call back at 5pm . I tell him if i call back at 5pm cuz no one showed what good will that do? will he be able to get a truck out then? the answer was no not till monday.... So i try to explain to him why would i wait then and he says well you need to give the tech time to get out there..... Im pretty sure i have given Metrocast enough time . There has got to be someone you can report this garbage to....

In all my time dealing with different companies i have never seen this level of finger pointing of no follow through and just sheer lack of giving a damn for your customers ....its like something out of a sitcom. It truly is a shame that they have a monopoly up here because im sure that if there was a choice even if it was not an upgrade but same service different company im sure people would go like rats off a sinking ship....

I know you are having problems but ATT is a big monopoly as well. But maybe they can manage to to get you online.

I know what he's talking about. You can't trust anything Metrocast employees tell you over the phone. I've been dealing with them on and off for 5 years and it hasn't gotten any better. As long as things work, it's all good. You need support? It's poor at best. Fail to pay your bill once, they will be on you like white on rice. I bet you can take that one to the bank.

The issue with ATT is just the limitation of DSL, all i could get is 3000/512 max but It was rock solid.
