I agree with you about the players and coaches, that's why I specified the Athletic Directors (AD's). We also agree on the money motivation issue.
Boise and ABC were trying to get Texas to play an open date this season, and Texas wouldn't step up. So Boise, TCU, Utah, BYU have been trying to schedule the so-called titans for years. What I liked about the article is it exposed the fact that playing any one of these teams is not a lose-lose anymore (if you win so what, if you lose you get dinged) Oregon sits at #8 and may be #4 at seasons end with some luck. No downside (other than they would have been ranked #1 or #2 right now) for their loss to Boise.
It is also important to point out both the WAC and the MW will most likely be inducted into the BCS in 2 years. They are currently in a trial/probationary period now. In 2013 this matter for them will be moot, but we still have other "mid-majors" that will get the shaft. |

| What really is an outrage is that Texas could lose to the Aggies, a major rival they play away in an extremely hostile environment, which could bump Oregon into the number 2 spot by the end of the season. It's not likely, as the computers are generally favorable to undefeated teams, as was witnessed with Iowa being hailed as the best team in the country prior to this week's loss, but man would that cause a stir. I'm sure the AP and coach polls will keep Boise State above Oregon if both teams win out, but it will only be a position or two, and that won't make too much of a difference if the computers crush Boise State's SoS.
The horror! Let's hope it happens. The BCS deserves it. It sounds like we are both on the same page.
There are definitely some chicksh#ts involved, and they are afraid to lose money. If a crazy situation happens with the BCS, I'll likely boycott the championship game and fart around with a non-NCAA video game instead of watching TV. |

| reply to dogma The article only raised attention to those who do not follow NCAA Football or history. Boise State is not the first to beg for another school to play them. Why didn't they change conferences back in 05 when they had the opportunity? Stop crying, they play teams that's not ranked, barely beat them and wonder why they don't get BCS bids. Stand in line behind Auburn, they've been begging for USC since they were shafted for the chance to play for the championship. Auburn asked USC 3 years straight and was declined. Miami has been asking for USC, Virginia Tech has been asking for USC, so has Oklahoma and Colorado. Penn St has been after Bama for 4 years, they get their chance next year. There are a lot of schools that Boise St. can stand behind, they're not the only school asking/begging to play another team.

^^ all of the roomies in our house said "what the hell?" when they ruled it an incomplete.
Couldn't get too upset though. OSU found their offense today vs Penn State. |

| In PSU's defense they hadn't really played anybody. It's really hard to benchmark how good a team is when you play a soft out-of-conference schedule. Iowa was #4, but they hadn't played anybody either...just rode their W/L record to the top of the standings. |

1 edit | Right, Oklahoma lost again, that is 4 losses...they are #24...Since they are such a great team, even with 4 losses they should only drop 1 spot, clearly
On a side note, I see some Boise talk...How can you take a team seriously when they nearly lose to LA tech? or even let LA tech put up that many points |

| What are they hoping for exactly? a shot in the next few years at the BCS game?
We already know that either Alabama or Florida is going, If Texas doesn't lose...The SEC is going to have another ring
Getting to predictable, I can't wait till next year |

If Cody and Ingram stay at least another year at Bama, Bama may be at their prime. Their QB is a senior so he'll be gone but he really hasn't done anything this year. Bama back-up QB is a running QB and a freshman so who knows what Saban will do next year. I see at least a few more years of SEC dominance. Tennessee should be good next with their #3 defense, LSU has the #1 defense and I think Auburn may make noise next year. |

McElroy will be back next year. He's a junior this year. He redshirted in 2006. |

They have the refs on their side for any screw ups that the newbie players will have happen to them |

QB hurt and their best corner back hurt. |

| reply to Van said by Van :They have the refs on their side for any screw ups that the newbie players will have happen to them I've noticed recently that it seems like the refs from respective conferences are "letting" the team that "should" win, win. The SEC looks ESPECIALLY guilty. The past two games I've caught (Bama, Florida) the refs have been ATROCIOUSLY bad.
The Cincinnati game was also bad. |

I can't stand LSU either but good grief that was a huge, game-changing play
The refs have favored UF/Bama HEAVILY this year and it continues to show. Non-SEC people are finally figuring it out what other SEC teams deal with on a weekly basis |

| I thought the great thing about that play was the replays, constantly showing them yet all that time that stupid (during games) ESPN Bottomline was in the way every time, Clearly the officials were seeing the replay with the Bottomline, Later on Sports center there was a better view and he was clearly in |
