| It sounds silly- let competitors access your content.. BUT ... in the interests of competition and consumer choice, it's only fair.
If this was lifted, you could see how companies may rush to sign mega exclusive deals that lock out everyone but their subscribers from channels and or shows etc. Even worse, like NFL sunday ticket, the enormous cost of buying these "exclusive rights" would just be handed down to the subscribers in the form of massive price increases.
So, everyone loses. Half the people can't get the programming they want on their carrier and the other half can get it but pays 10 times the price it used to cost. LAME.
