| Constant Disconnects with Shaw
Would like to seek some aid from the forums on what exactly I should do for this situation.
Long story short, my internet disconnects all the time. Completely random intervals, the modem lights will turn off, and start blinking again until it reconnects 1-2 min later. This can happen anywhere from 0-5 times an hour.
Couple points: 1. I've had multiple techs come to my house already. Supposedly "diagnosed" the problem. First few had no clue what was wrong, and just replaced everything. The last guy discovered another household nearby was having the exact same disconnect days as me, so obviously it's not an isolated incident.
2. Every socket has had all parts replaced. Coax cable has been replaced. Filter/connectors outside house has been replaced. Modem has been replaced. Everything known to man has been replaced. Anything at all related to the cable connection is brand new.
This issue started way back in February, and lasted for a good month or so, until it was "resolved" until this past weekend. Now it's happening again the last 3 days.
I honestly don't even know what to say anymore to the Shaw employees. I'm probably more experienced at possible troubleshoot tips than them now. Reconnect this, check that connection, is the modem flapping, etc. I've heard the overclogged node thing, except this issue can occur at *any* given time in a day. I highly doubt there are that many internet users at 2 am in the morning, every single day.
Anyone here ever have this problem? And if so, any suggestions as to what I should do at this point? I mean, I'm surprised I haven't already switched to Telus...
Thanks for any help provided. |
