A note to Verizon (Old GTE) Marketing Driods.

Could you for once Consult with the HARDWARE and WORKING types before you put out a new marketing scheme. While i was happy that you lowered the price, Im sad that after being told it would be 30days and after 30 days of waiting I just found out it could be another 30 - 45 days. COMMON. I ordered it in November because my Crappy ISP runs out end of december and I aint renewing. Now im looking at an outtage.

PLEASE Market droids LET THE WORKERS KNOW and have input before you flood the world with your ADS

We usually do know when a mail drop is going out ahead of time. They tell us so we're prepared for the influx of calls. When a mailer goes out, it goes to a huge area. They look at the list of capable CLLI's, and drop mailers to that entire area. Unfortunately, one hand doesn't know what the other is doing. Marketing has no idea what goes on in the DSL department. All they do is say 'hi, I want a list of every CO'z zipcode that is wired for DSL' cross reference that list and drop the mailer. It would be nice if the DSL CLLI database listed DOR status, but unfortunately it doesn't.

Well said.
Re-thought the majority of this and decided to keep my (what there is anyway) anonymity....
I am sorry for you in Everett though and wish I could help.

Well Im still stuck in limbo with no hope of getting on at all.

as I understand it the new software has a bad glitch. My Circuit ID is

480-47SWXX001763GTEW, but the New software prints to the CO 480-47SWXX001763VATI. Guess what, the CO then rejects it as an Invalid Circuit ID. BUT, nobody has any idea how to fix it (I do but Im practical. How about taking the orders off the VATI and Retype it into the CO software until you fix it) but then again that would be too practical

UGH, meanwhile thousands of pissed off customers sit in limbo. How many are going elsewhere while verizon dinks around.

hope you are up and running now, but as a longtime GTE oops shorttime Verizon employee I can assure you, If it makes sense we won't do it! Nothing personal, but from a field techs point of view the 2 step between the utilities and the government shouldn't be a mystery to anyone who lives in Microsoft territory. FCC deregulates DSL circuits, phone company changes names an phone #s of responsible departments, marketers are paid to sell products and they use the shotgun approach. My suggestion to you is the one I always suggest to anyone having trouble getting their service installed or repaired, work LOCALLY. Try to find a contact at the local telco who will take ownership of your problem or will refer you to someone who will. It's really not that hard we are out there and quite visible everyday, and if your network through your job, church, kids schools, etc I bet you can find someone who actually knows a telco employee. We do exist and the majority of us want to help solve customer problems because we are in the service business. Don't get discouraged if your first attempt at getting help from a phone co person doesn't work out,(say at a Mcdonald's or another area where the phone techs may take their morning breaks) remember every business has their employees who work hard for their customers and those who just show up 40 hrs for the biweekly check. If you can't get help from the 1st phone tech you ask try again. Most telcos can resolve your problems locally in 1/2 the time you have to spend on the phone trying to get your problems even recorded. It's frustrating for us in the field as well as for the customer, please remember also your situation is unique because of the high demand for service in your area due to Microsoft. Good luck and help spread the word we are out here and we do care, try your local phone co 1st!
