Re: Telus doing upgrades in Kelowna....

Thanks! Hmm, the box I found in my neighbourhood doesn't look like any of the three. Now I'm really curious as to whether or not that big cable truck I saw was installing new fibre. I sure hope so, 3mbit is kind of slow, I'd be happy with 6mbit even (what I had before I moved.)

I don't think the third box is Telus. Look for boxes the same colour as the first two, and with a 4 number code in yellow or orange lettering.

yeah, it may not be Telus but the box shape/size reminded me of the ones that use to be around my neighborhood. They were a little lighter green and indeed had the four yellow digits on them. I guess for the size comparison I should have got the new box in the picture too.

Hey, I just noticed that the box in my neighbourhood looks like the top picture, although mirrored (box hanging on the right instead of the left.) I also saw two telus trucks slinging cable about two blocks away. I'm hoping I'm gonna be able to get turbo soon!

Edit: Darn, called in and nothing yet. Or at least who I was talking to didn't have a clue...

Glenmore is a rough area for good dsl, lots of old buried cable up there, I wouldn't be suprised to see some upgrades there really soon.

close, the little green one is a shaw box, not a telus one, but they look similar, look for four yellow stickers giving the number of the sac box on the side. The new ones are orange, usually.

The "old" SAC box in the pictures is not a SAC at all. Indeed the two pictures above are new Fibre boxes. The First being one that was "spun" By CGL Cont, which is out of Vernon. The Second being precast.
