Re: t1

hey, could someone out there help me regarding a typical niu for a t1 circuit, im a telco tech for the port of los angeles,my questions are, directly from a rj45 port from a niu going directly to a router do i use a standard cat5e patchcord or a crossover cable
You can use a standard patch cord, do keep in mind the DS1 signal utilizes pins 1,2 and 4,5.

and if after i plug it in and the alarm light on the niu goes away,if the custermer still cant see the connection is it a problem with t1 and or router
I could be either, to eliminate the circuit place a loopback plug (x-jack) 1 to 4 and 2 to 5 on the Smartjack and see if they can float LMI or see the loopback from the other end if so that eliminates the circuit as a problem.

If you cannot fix it with a buttset and some beanies you're not a technician.
