| rentals...... anyone who says renting boxes / modems is a non-profit thing for cable-co's needs to look at the numbers... comon $5 a month for a $40 cable modem? in one year they already made $20 profit... a cable box costs about $350 (based on places that DO sell moto boxes) for a HD box, at $9 a month for the box then HD Service fee of who knows how much that takes a whole 2-3 years to pay off then profit time... most of these boxes dont break every year, heck we have never had a box break.... you have to figure out they make SOME money off cable boxes because they rarely break to the point of not being usable... they usually jus repurpous the box to someone else anymore it seems like... but back to my point $5 a month for a $40 modem is ridicilous...... start making people buy the darn things |
