2 edits | reply to kw It is true that you may find a file here and there that you can't find on Usenet, but the truth of the matter is that the source of most torrents is Usenet.
Just about everything you find on BT was first uploaded to Usenet, then downloaded by someone from Usenet, then torrented.
I never use torrents anymore. On Usenet I average 30Mbit download speeds (40Mbit connection), I can do a full length 1080p BluRay in like 12 mins. I've never gotten anywhere near that on BT. |

|
 | I'm not quite sure how you can say that I "don't know how to torrent". I have been using BT for almost 10 years. But I understand that this is the Internet and people on the Internet love to make unsubstantiated claims.
The sky isn't green, no matter how many times someone says it is. |

1 edit | said by nyctrader: I have been using BT for almost 10 years. You must show me your time machine. The first implementation of it was in 2001 and I really doubt you used it from the very beginning. I'd pin your actual usage at 6-7 years. |
|
 | First, I said almost. You need to read all the words someone writes. Second, you can doubt it all you want. The fact of the matter is, I've been using BT since 2002. |

1 edit | No offense taken, its just that I don't understand how people that don't know each other can state "facts" about the other person. |

|
 | 1) The conversation doesn't involve you.
2) You clearly don't understand Standard Rounding
3) You clearly don't understand the spirit of my disagreement (the "fact" that I don't know how to use BT, told to me by a person that doesn't know me or my level of experience)
4) Perhaps, you are correct. Saying "almost 8 years" would have been more clear, but since the disagreement was about my level of familiarity with BitTorrent, I didn't see the significance in the precise number of years, and quite frankly, still don't. |

 | Me too! I agree.
I mean, BitTorrent is fine too, I just like Usenet better. |
