[Mp3] How to delete read-only files in flash drive?

I recently bought a mp3 player cum flash drive but what annoys me is the programme that auto runs (some music player programme which they try to install for me) everytime I plug the drive in. I've tried deleting the files but they are read-only files and access is denied.

Is there anyway I can get rid of those files? The auto-run installation is quite annoying.

If it is U3 software then you can get the uninstaller here »u3.com/support/default.aspx#CQ3 .

Did you try making the files not read-only? Right-click, properties, uncheck "read only" ?

Was unable to do that. It says access denied.

Can you tell us the brand/type of mp3 player, that might help if someone else has owned the same one and knows how to fix it.

I guess the extreme way to fix it would be to turn off the auto-run functionality in Windows.

Can't format, it says the volume is write protected.
