| 8300HD-DVR not in stock??
So this morning I pack this junk 3250HD up and haul it to the local office to upgrade to an 8300HD DVR. I was told they had non in stock and that they had no clue when they'd get more.
Now I'm stuck with this 3250HD until at some point I drive back to the office and try again. How does a cable company not have any boxes and what happens if a new sub signs up for DVR service, do they just get the shaft like the rest of us?
A cash cow box and they don't have any is sad if you ask me. |

2 edits | My guess is they're not ordering any new ones at the time, because they know they'll start getting a ton of them back once they begin rolling out the DOCSIS 3.0 in those "3 markets" yet to be named.
In that "Summer in the City" presentation I listened to, they've done a lot of business smart things like that which makes the company more profitable.
but then again the person you spoke to may just be a idiot. Try calling their sales dept (a few times) see if you get the same response every time. |

| reply to BiGdUsTy Hey Big,
When I had Comcast a few years back, I tried to swap out for a couple of 8300s and they sid they had none. I sweet-talked the csr for a little and she called back into the shop and had them bring 2 up that were being held for the techs.
Just FYI - a little sweetness may help.
Also - see this about Comcast & Springfield...

| reply to BiGdUsTy The beach office for comcast has at least 30 of them sitting in the locker behind the service desk. I only know this because I stopped by and picked up a channel guide just in case.
Contractors are one of comcast biggest problems in my book. I invite anybody to take a drive around the beach and look at just how bad the comcast (aka Jones Spacelink) system has been kept up over the years. Out side my house the comcast trunk is hanging almost 7 inchs off it's guide wire.
For the faults that knology does have at least the techs take care of the system. |
