I'm in a hotel in Hobbs, NM that uses US Cable. A few days ago, speeds dropped from 4-10 Mbps/800-1.5 Mbps to a few hundred kbps up/down. The hotel is aware of the situation and has rebooted their modem but speeds still suck.
I was out here before and had Windstream DSL - that sucked, too.
This is three days of this crap. The hotel manager can't get tech support to do anything after hours on the phone. Many guests and the hotel staff are encountering the same problem.
reply to RWild Apparently, these assholes are throttling speeds or allowing some major bandwidth hog on in the evening. Haven't figured out exactly when it starts each day but this morning I was getting 8+/0.8 Mbps and now it's back down to a few hundred kbps each way with up faster than down. The hotel manager saids the daytime/nighttime thing has been going on off and on since December.
